Budget teams up with iconic Old Mutual Soweto Marathon

As runners lace up their running shoes and set off on the celebrated Old Mutual Soweto Marathon 2019, Budget Rent a Car will be the official car rental partner of the event for the fourth time. 

The 26th running of the event, dubbed “The People’s Race”, will take place on 3 November 2019. It will start and finish at FNB Stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg, and comprises a standard 42km marathon, 21km half-marathon and a 10km run. 

Budget will provide the lead car and other logistics vehicles for the event.
The route celebrates Soweto’s rich history, with runners passing eight significant heritage sites – Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, Walter Sisulu Square, Regina Mundi Catholic Church, Credo Mutwa Cultural Village, Vilakazi Street and the Hector Pieterson Memorial, as well as Morris Isaacson High School and the June 16 Memorial Acre. Approximately 40 000 runners have entered the various races this year.
